Nordicity to study employment issues in cultural industries

Nordicity partners with MediaINTELLIGENCE and PricewaterhouseCoopers to prepare studies of employment and human resources issues in the cultural industries and newspaper industry

OTTAWA — June 1, 2007 — The Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC) has selected Nordicity Group Ltd. and its consulting partners, MediaINTELLIGENCE.ca Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, to prepare two separate studies on employment and human resources issues in the cultural industries and newspaper industry.

For one study, Nordicity will prepare a statistical profile of the cultural workforce at large and medium-sized employers in the cultural industries, including film and TV production, broadcasting, sound recording, new media, and book and magazine publishing. For the other study, Nordicity will prepare a statistical profile of the cultural workforce in the Canadian newspaper industry. As part of both studies, Nordicity will investigate the human resources issues faced by large and medium-sized employers in the cultural industries and newspaper industry.

Susan Annis, Executive Director, CHRC welcomed Nordicity and its partners to this project. “The CHRC and the project steering committee are very pleased that Nordicity will be leading these two important studies with the support of such a highly qualified team comprised of MediaINTELLIGENCE and PricewaterhouseCoopers.”

Nordicity and its partner companies will complete the research for both studies during summer 2007 and report its findings to the CHRC and the project steering committee in the fall.
