Peter Lyman

Peter Lyman

Senior Partner

Peter is an internationally recognized expert in the media and communications industry with more than 25 years of consulting experience. He has participated in all facets of the regulatory, policy development, performance evaluation, and business strategy formulation with respect to the telecom, broadcasting, cable, satellite, content, and cultural industries in Canada and abroad. Peter is co-founder of Nordicity, and returned after spending 1998-2002 as national lead partner of the Information Communications and Entertainment/Media practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting.

Mr. Lyman holds a B.A. from McGill University and a M.B.A. from Harvard University.


Stuart Jack

Stuart Jack

Partner

Stuart specializes in strategic market and technology analysis, business plan preparation, process improvement, policy and regulatory analysis, and organization design and capacity building. He is considered a subject matter expert in the telecommunications, broadcasting and recording industries. Stuart has led numerous international projects for public agencies and multinational firms. Prior to rejoining Nordicity, Stuart was Director in the Information Communications and Entertainment/Media practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Jack holds an Honours B.A. from Queens University, a M.Sc. from Université du Québec, and a M.B.A. from Concordia University.

Dustin Chodorowicz, CFA

Partner

Dustin has over 10 years of experience as a financial analyst, economist, and management consultant in the media and communications industries. He provides Nordicity’s clients with financial analysis, valuation, and economic-modelling solutions, which enrich their understanding of the impact of market developments, industry regulation, and government policy. Dustin’s analytical expertise and industry knowledge has allowed him to lead numerous strategy consulting projects for clients in radio and television broadcasting, cable and satellite television, film and television production, broadband internet services, fixed and mobile telecommunications services, music and sound recording, and book and periodical publishing. Dustin has appeared as an expert witness at the both the Federal Court of Canada and Copyright Board of Canada, where he has provided expert testimony on the economic value of broadcasting licences and copyright. Prior to joining Nordicity, Dustin was a consultant in the Information Communications and Entertainment/Media practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Chodorowicz graduated from University of Toronto with a B.Sc. and M.A. (Economics).

Terri Wills

Manager

Terri is recognized for her international expertise in strategy development, market research, and policy analysis in the media industries – including television, film and new media. At Nordicity, Terri has developed market forecasts, such as subscriber uptake for a South African satellite tv licence applicant; conducted economic impact assessments, such as the impact of retransmission consent in Canada; and advised on policy development, including strategies for strengthening the Ontario feature film industry. Before Nordicity, Terri was a Head of Strategy for the BBC in London, UK, where she shaped tv and new media content strategies, developed “creative cluster” public sector partnerships, and advised on the creation of e-learning services. Prior to the BBC, Terri was at Forrester Research in the UK, where she co-authored widely read reports analyzing best practices in cross-platform marketing and advertising; video-on-demand and interactive television; and online retailing.

Terri has an MSc in Media and Communications from the London School of Economics, and an Honours B.A. in Political Studies from Queen’s University, Canada.

Akhaji Zakiya

Senior Consultant

Akhaji is recognized for her knowledge of corporate financial management issues as well as business strategy and policy development in media industries. Akhaji also has considerable expertise in analysis, research and management in the specific areas of television, radio and new media. As well, her experience in non-profit accounting complements her skills in financial system design and administration. Prior to joining NGL, Akhaji was a Business Analyst with CTVglobemedia and CHUM Television in the areas of content distribution, affiliate sales and marketing.

Ms. Zakiya holds a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, a B.Ed. from York University and a M.B.A. (Finance & Strategic Management) from the Schulich School of Business.

Kurt Eby

Senior Consultant

Kurt has comprehensive knowledge of market, business and regulatory issues in the broadcasting, broadcast distribution, film and television production, new media, telecommunications and ICT sectors of the communications industry. He has considerable experience in researching, analyzing and reporting on market and regulatory developments in film and television, advertising and publishing sectors in Canada and internationally. In the telecommunications sector, he has undertaken market and product line analysis and competitive benchmarking for service providers. In the ICT sector, he has developed a deep understanding of key applications and their impact on network design and operations.

Prior to joining Nordicity, Kurt was editor of the Tech Media Reports (the former Decima Reports) publications, Canadian Communications Reports and Canadian NEW MEDIA. He has also held the position of business writer for the Television Bureau of Canada.

Kurt holds a bachelor of journalism from Ryerson University.

Kristian Roberts

Consultant

Kristian has specialized knowledge of new media and emerging technologies, especially as they relate to the creation of new Canadian and international market and strategic opportunities in the creative industries. Kristian has considerable understanding of interactive media, information communications technology and the convergence of all other media that these technologies propagate. In his time at Nordicity, Mr. Roberts has also delved deeply into policy relating to the wider creative industries and their impact on local and national economies. Prior to joining Nordicity, Kristian held the position of Technologist in a Toronto-area human resources firm.

Mr. Roberts holds an MSc in International Politics from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth and a B.A. (Hon) in Political Science and History from Concordia University in Montreal.

Shelby Miller

Financial Administrator

Ms. Miller brings over 20 years of business experience specializing in the development and implementation of efficient financial recording processes and systems designed to provide useful and accurate information to management.

Ms. Miller holds a B.A. from the University of Toronto with a major in Commerce and a minor in Economics. She is currently a Pro Advisor with QuickBooks.
